Project management masterclass for SMEs

How can we handle our projects better? This was a question that DEHN Marketing Manager Guido Becherer approached us with in 2022. The challenge was evident: the number of projects in the marketing department is increasing and DEHN's marketing managers need to be empowered to manage them. To do so, we prepared and shared our knowledge on the topic of project management and provided the marketing managers with a comprehensive toolbox.

Our goal: A solid knowledge base across project management methods.
The topics: Attitude, agility, methods from classic to SCRUM, rituals and project controlling.

However, as theory alone does not necessarily make a good project manager, we brought the practice into the masterclass. With specific results for the collaboration between our clients and us as an agency, through a jointly developed briefing template as best practice for future projects. And with homework from the theory for the practice, with direct application in our project work.

What exactly is a working agreement? What is the best method to use to manage my project? How do I create a waterfall diagram? What does a backlog refinement look like? These are all questions that DEHN's marketing managers can now answer in an instant. For practical use, we have also supplemented the process with regular support sessions to provide advice and assistance in applying the new knowledge.

In order to translate and consolidate all the building blocks of the masterclass into reality, we not only completed the entire process with a multiple choice test, but also tested the various project management methods using an example we chose and demonstrated the presentation skills in a final presentation.

Managing projects more efficiently and better - who wouldn't want that? We are constantly learning too. And we enjoy sharing our knowledge. What I particularly enjoyed about the experience was the change of perspective. What does project management mean in the marketing sector? What are the concerns and needs of our customers? What are the work processes and challenges? How can we support them in their processes? A shared view of the projects strengthens collaboration and understanding. And in the end, we can simply do better ‘good stuff’ than we did before.

  • 6 sessions of 1.5 hours each for knowledge transfer approximately every 4 weeks
  • Additional support sessions between the course units
  • Multiple choice test
  • Final work including presentation
